Large crowds at the New Year's reception in Magstadt
This year's New Year's reception in the municipality of Magstadt was an initial success for the still young alliance. A good year after the opening demonstration in the Magstadter Flecken, the alliance presented itself to the Magstadt public for the first time with a stand and a postcard campaign. In the background, a small working group had spent the last few weeks communicating the results of the values workshop last November. The postcards and the accompanying survey on the current situation of our democracy and our democratic values attracted great interest. In his New Year's speech, Mayor Glock emphasized how important the work of the Alliance for Democracy Magstadt is right now, namely "in times when things are getting increasingly politically and socially rough and a federal election is just around the corner." The many discussions were characterized by great solidarity and the realization by all that the issue must be brought to the attention of the population. The team from the Alliance for Democracy was able to take home many good suggestions, which will subsequently be incorporated into the work of the network.
The political representatives of the parties from the Böblingen district who were present (see picture) expressed their thanks and praise for the work of the alliance. District Administrator Roland Bernhard, MP Florian Toncar (FDP), MP Florian Wahl (SPD) and MP Matthias Miller (CDU) emphasized the importance of such municipal networks and could imagine discussing the topic further with Magstadt residents later this year as part of a citizen dialogue in Magstadt.
The short survey, which can be accessed via a QR code during the event, was accessed over 100 times in the first few hours. This is also a success for the alliance, as the network wants to win as many people as possible behind the idea of a free, democratic society and thus a successful democracy and to expand the network bit by bit.
